ARTC
The Australian Rail Track Corporation is a Government of Australia owned statutory corporation,...
Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) represents more than 131,673 financial professionals, supporting them to make a difference to the businesses, organisations and communities in which they work and live.
The Brief
As building owners, CA ANZ wanted to lease a vacant floor to a new tenant. Axiom Workplaces were engaged to create a contemporary speculative fit-out that would appeal to a broad-cross section of corporate tenants. The space had to enhance collaboration, be open and inviting and feature an impactful entry space to spike potential tenants’ interest.
The key challenge was that the floor was previously a CA ANZ working floor, so the required amenities that would allow the space to operate as a sole floor were not in place. There was also limited access to natural light in the deeper core areas of the building.
Being an access floor there was also a challenge with differing floor levels. The previous design did not allow for fluid circulation of movement throughout the floor and did not make the best use of space available.
The existing ceiling was also exposed and needed to be addressed.
The Outcome
We created a dynamic entry space that dressed the existing exposed ceiling and took advantage of the extra height in the new reception area.
To enhance collaboration within the new space, we created breakout zones and meeting rooms that were differentiated from the general work area by clever use of floor, wall and ceiling treatments. The lack of natural light within one part of the floor was overcome by creating an interactive presentation space designed to generate idea sharing and teamwork. A variety of furniture styles and spaces were also created to give a mix of collaboration zones and focus work areas.
The design also allows for living greenery to be incorporated into joinery pieces and storage areas when tenanted.
Axiom worked with CA ANZ to develop a solution that turned a challenging space into a collaborative and contemporary environment.
