Case study – RASL
Racing Analytical Services Limited (RASL), is Australia’s largest independent drug testing laboratory and provides sophisticated drug testing services for equine, canine and human samples.
The unique nature of the client and brief included the need for the environment to seem unlike any other typical lab environment. The client required negative pressure in particular rooms which had specialised equipment and the wind tunnels needed to not only look aesthetically pleasing but to be functional, structural and perform from an acoustic point of view as well.
Through our unique ‘Insight’ strategy workshops between Axiom and RASL, the team worked through several iterations of wind tunnel design drawings. The client was consistently involved and engaged in this process given they had in-depth knowledge of the equipment that was to be installed.
The team also undertook heavy research into flooring finishes to achieve the best outcome from an aesthetic point of view that would set the lab apart from others and provide the staff with a pleasant work environment.
The team was very specific with the documentation and ensured constant liaising with the trades and site-based staff to ensure all requests were being captured.
